Teaching Philosophy

 

No matter how qualified a teacher, the most important factor is the relationship with the student--is it a good fit? For me, this relationship is paramount!  In the North Springs Flute Studio, each student receives individualized, nurturing instruction that is specifically tailored to him or her.
 

The whole reason to play an instrument is to enjoy the experience of making music. This enjoyment is my ultimate, over-riding goal for all of my students. As we work together, abilities increase, inspiring daily practice, which increases ability, and this positive cycle takes hold. Whether or not the student becomes a professional musician is beside the point. The JOY of music, once experienced, can last a lifetime.
